Land Rover LR2 Service and Repair

Motorcars LTD opened its first all British car repair shop in Houston Texas back in 1972. In those days we had all the British made vehicles and plenty of them coming through the shop. Eventually when Jaguar (and later Land Rover) became the two remaining British-made cars sold in the U.S.A, Motorcars became known as Houston’s Land Rover repair experts.

A Closer Look At The Land Rover LR2 Model

The second generation Freelander named the Freelander 2 debuted at the 2006 it was marketed as LR2 in North America. The LR2 was based on the Ford EUCD platform used also by Volvo.

The engine range is all-new for LR2, featuring transversely-mounted 3.2-litre straight-six engine of the Ford SI6 series, as well as the 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine, co-developed by Ford and PSA Peugeot Citroën.

The new LR2 features higher ground clearance and off-road capabilities that are closer to other Land Rover models.
The new Freelander was first sold in the U.S. in 2007 as the LR2. The 2008 version is called the LR2 HSE. Production ceased at the end of 2014.
